The Impressive Clergyman:
“Mawwiage. Mawwiage is what bwings us togethew today. Mawwiage, that bwessed awwangement, that dweam within a dweam. And wove, twue wove, wiww fowwow you fowevah and evah… So tweasuwe youw wove.”
In honor of valentines day, here’s a shout-out to my favorite valentine. He is my perfect match. It’s strange because we are polar opposites. We really couldn’t be more different, but we balance each other out and make a pretty awesome team.
The Man is a great dad and a great husband. He cares about his family and friends. He lives with the aftermath of the brain tumor, complete with a headache every minute of every day, but he tries his darnedest not to let it effect him. He’s the one who keeps the mood in our home happy and playful. He does silly voices and quotes random movies. He walks like Sasquatch to cheer someone up. He is patient with Buddy, Little D and I when we have meltdowns. He’s our calming voice when we need it. He loves and adores his little family. He works hard at his job so I can be a stay-at-home mom. (And by the way, the fact that he investigates financial crime for a job is pretty hot). He takes care of me. He respects me. He loves me. He amazes me every day. I love that handsome beast more than I thought possible.
Marriage is hard, no doubt. But it really is awesome to have your best friend beside you to live and laugh and love for the rest of forever. And like that ridiculous clergyman said, marriage can be a dream within a dream. You just have to work for it.
